APPLE CUSTARD CRUMBLE


How good do those pieces of warm cinnamon apple look with that creamy custard and crunchy crumble? You guys seriously need to try this and for those who eat vegan please do not look away because I made this with all vegan ingredients. Yes! Orgran give regular and Vegan cooking options so they suit all eating lifestyles and that’s one of the reasons this Apple Custard Crumble is sooo delicious. Now the only question is do you add coconut ice cream, some fresh blueberries or both? Hope you are all having a wonderful day! Enjoy x

Preparation: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Serves 6-8

Baking dish 25 x 20 cm

Apples Layer:

1 kg granny smith apples, peel and cut into chunks

1-2 tsp ground cinnamon

3/4 cup water

1 tbs coconut sugar

Custard Layer:

1 serving of Organ Custard Mix (uses 2 tbs custard mix)

Crumble Layer:

60g butter OR vegan butter, chilled and diced into very small pieces

1 1/2 cups organic oats (uncontaminated)

2 tbs coconut sugar

  1. Preheat oven 160C fan forced.

  2. Place apples in a pot with 3/4 cup of water and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with cinnamon and spread evenly into baking dish.

  3. Using ORGRAN Custard Mix, make one serving (uses 2 tbs custard mix). Pour over apples that are baking dish. Spread out evenly.

  4. To make the crumble, combine all ingredients and using your fingers or a large fork combine and crumble till it resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Sprinkle evenly over custard.

  5. Bake in oven for 30 minutes. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before sprinkle extra cinnamon over crumble. Serve with ice cream of choice or simple as is!
