Apples with Nuts

Who doesn’t love apples and nuts? Combine the two and you’ve got APPLES WITH NUTS! I don’t think I need to say more than that, except that it’s sweet, crunchy, creamy and virtually guilt free. Combining healthy foods to make dessert is always one of my favourite things to create in the kitchen. Enjoy x

3 granny smith apples

½ cup granola (I used @blissfitfoods Keto Mix)

2 tbs nut butter (I used Barney Almond Butter from @purenaturalsandorganics)

1 tbs water

Choice of ice cream

OR yogurt (I used vegan coconut ice cream)

Drizzle of honey or maple syrup

  1. Preheat oven 160C fan forced.

  2. Prepare apples. Cut in half and scoop out the core creating a hole.

  3. Microwave nut butter for 30 seconds to soften.

  4. Using a spoon, combine the granola / mix , nut butter and water creating a paste.

  5. Place apples onto tray lined with baking paper and evenly distribute mixture between 6 halves.

  6. Cover with baking paper and bake for 25 minutes.

  7. Serve warm with a big dollop of ice cream or yogurt and drizzle with honey or maple syrup.
