We named these Vasi’s Bliss Balls because these were created one night whilst having some fun in the kitchen with my daughter. She has never been completely interested in cooking, so I really wanted to make a big deal out of it and name them after her. Funny that kids don’t necessarily get into the same hobbies as their parents as both my kids LOVE to eat but not so much involvement on the cooking side of it.

I was never going to post this recipe but a couple days later Effi from @sydneyfoodsisters came over and tried one. She insisted I write up the recipe and post it, especially after her kids had a try and they seem to also love them. So here it is… Vasi’s Bliss Balls. Enjoy x

Makes 30 large balls

12 large medjool dates, pitted and halved

80g cashews, raw, unsalted

60g pumpkin / pepita seeds

40g sunflower seeds

40g organic cacao powder (I used absolute organics)

30g desiccated coconut

3 tbs raw organic honey

2 tbs coconut oil

2 tbs chia seeds

1 tsp coffee

½ tsp ground cinnamon

  1. Add the dates into a food processor / thermomix and pulse.

  2. Add to the dates all the remaining ingredients and pulse until broken down and resembles a dough-like crumbled paste.

  3. Spoon mixture into a bowl and roll a tablespoon of the mixture at a time into balls. Optional to roll balls in extra cacao powder to coat.

  4. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
